Frequently Asked Questions

Who should use this?

The Wedge is targeted at the executive traveler, entrepreneurs, people that have to cover a lot of miles to places off the beaten path and the professionals that support them.

How much does it cost?

The basic Wedge service is free. The Wedge also offers a Premium Membership for $345 a year that is aimed at people that are either owners of fractional aircraft, jet card holders or charter general aviation frequently. The Premium Membership allows for cost sharing while flying on general aviation aircraft.

How does it work?

The Wedge is an application that evaluates the trip alternatives to get you from doorstep to destination anywhere within the US via car, commercial aviation, and/or private jet charter and air taxi. The system is constantly updated with costs data and had direct links to the airline distribution system to get live prices and schedule data. You make the choice that fits your schedule on whether to be cost efficient or time efficient or both.

Is it truly doorstep to doorstep planning?

Yes. The Wedge Trip Planner looks at all modes of transport to go from your real origination point to your final destination. That nearly always means ground-air-ground services.

What do I get with the Premium Membership?

The Premium Membership costs $345 a year and members have deeper access to the Trip Planner. Members can input routes traveled and save them for later retrieval and re-booking, the patented FAA WizardTM facilitates accounting for trips taken on general aviation aircraft and the sharing and billing of the cost across several parties. In addition, travel companions and their contact information can be entered for both reservation and accounting/ billing purposes.

Can I book a private charter directly with the Wedge?

Yes. Complete a Quote Request or call us at 800-975-8022. The charter service enables you to obtain the best quotes from the best ‘air-taxi’ operators in the US. All partners are pre-qualified to provide the best services to meet the trip criteria.

How can I find spare seats on empty private jets?

Premium members can access the Find-a-FlightTM tools to find other members that have ‘shared’ their aircraft. This is a private network feature that brings elements of social networking to shared trips on fractional and air-taxi services.

How do I contact customer support?

Please use the Feedback form or call us at 800 975 8022.

How can I recharge by guests?

A Premium Wedge member has access to the Premium Trip Planner. The Trip Planner actually lets you set up your profile, preferences and travelers you travel with often. The ability to recharge guests is contained within the Premium Trip Planner tools. It is the ideal tool for anyone needing to manage their cash-flow and who would like to recover some of the trip costs from their guests.

How can I get a receipt for a trip I have already taken?

If you are a Premium Member the Wedge will actually do your trip accounting for you with its patented FAA WizardTM, especially if you are traveling on general aviation aircraft and want to share cost between several parties.

How do I access my current or past planned trips?

Current trips can be found using the My Trips link at the top of the screen.

Can I send my trip details to friends, family or colleagues?

Yes. Simply find the trip you would like to copy to your contacts and click on the envelope icon on the left. Add as many contacts as you wish.

Can I print my trip report?

No. The current release does not support printing of all the graphs and Google maps. However, you can email the Trip to friends, family, or colleagues.

I requested an air-taxi quote for my trip but did not get a response?

All quote requests are qualified by the Wedge. If you have not received up to 5 quotes after filling in your form then it is because we have been unable to verify the trip request with you.

Who is behind the Wedge?

The Wedge was formed in 2006 by a group of businessmen that realized the void in the travel market for a booking system that would truly compare three primary modes of transport and the associated costs to go to from A to B. If you are going from New York to Chicago your options may be obvious, but if you are trying to go from Austin, TX to Jackson Hole, WY, they are not.
